Saying Goodbye to Our Beautiful Garden Tree
We had this beautiful huge red maple tree that was our shade tree for our garden. It was massive and provided such amazing shade for the sheds and our garden. Unfortunately, the tree was distressed and we knew that we would have problems at some point. Over the holidays while we were out of town, one of the large limbs split and fell almost taking out one of our cars and took out our wifi wire. We realized that the tree was at risk at this point of causing more damage to the sheds and garden so we felt it was time that we had to have the tree cut down. Tree maintanence is far more expensive than you can imagine especially when you live in a forest. It really depresses me when we have to have large trees on our property but this had to be done or we risked more damage. We had a neighbor who does tree maintanence take down the tree but we left a good portion of the base of the trees. The lower part of the tree can decompose gradually with little risk of doing any damage. We will miss the tree a lot especially on hot summer days without any shade. We are working on converting one of the sheds into a Florida room so we can go inside and get a break from the hot sun. Very sad.
