We Love Our Jackery
I bought this as an early Christmas present for us for next summer's camping. However, I use it every day and it's come in handy on a couple storm days this winter. I bought us a Jackery 1000 and ready to buy another one. Love it.
Ware MA
Had to make a quick trip to the middle of nowhere - literally - Ware MA. for work. I stayed this time at a really cute BNB. Bird Hill Farm. Small but cute.
Tim's Birthday
We didn't go anywhere for Tim's birthday this year cause we are waiting for a couple months to go south while it's warmer. We celebrated Tim's birthday with a meal from Brooks BBQ in Oneonta and Tim's favorite confetti sheet cake. Happy Birthday Tim.
Valentines Day
We celebrated Valentines Day with a few sweets and sweet thoughts. I made iced brownies with sprinkles and ladybug cupcakes for my Mom. Tim decided to name a cockroach after me - so sweet - cause cockroaches are forever.
Indoor Projects
Along with working on the basement and painting the house and various other projects. I managed to finish all the headers and got them mounted over the doorways and we have been really enjoying out turntable stand watching the snow fall. On long cold weekends, we sit and play old records from the 80s and 90s and read. In addition to those projects, I continue to work on new plank flooring for the kitchen. It's actually a pleasant little chore in the basement during the work week - staining and varnishing the planks on the seed work table when I can take breaks from work. It is looking good.
Winter is Coming
The duldrum of winter is here and like the cats looking out their window - I feel the same way. It is going to be a long while till spring. We just have to keep ourselves busy with indoor projects until March comes along and starts to melt all this crazy snow.
New Years Eve 2022
We decided to have a healthy mean for New Years rather then the heavy handed Italian meal I usually make. Tim made baked mustard salmon, scalloped potatoes, and a Brussels sprouts salad. It was delicious. Will post recipe for the scalloped potatoes later.
Christmas At Our House
Christmas was quiet and lovely. We cooked a lovely meal of lasagna, sausage and peppers, garlic monkey bread, fried eggplant and Tim made a chocolate bread pudding with bourbon sauce. Christmas Eve we did zoom call with Tim's Mom at her church with choir and everyone participating remotely - it was so nice. Life during a pandemic. We watched the Russian Ballet dance the Nutcracker and then Scrooge which we streamed onto our large screen and drank egg nog. Presents were John Derian ornaments and ceramics from a friend of ours and always scandanavian chocolate covered licorice and various other things.
